Exterior
Altima Yachts required a strong, rugged design for its new Voyager, one that would look good many years from now and also offer yachtsmen maximum interior volume. Altima and Bill Prince turned to workboat heritage for inspiration in solving these competing requirements. With a large pilothouse positioned well forward for excellent visibility, a Portuguese bridge and wide, covered side decks, the 68 Voyager’s main deck offers all the practicality and ease of access that experienced cruisers require.
A large covered aft deck includes a deep lounge with seating for up to eight. An integrated outdoor galley unit with a grill, icemaker, refrigerator and sink is concealed in a weather-tight cabinet. Port and starboard molded staircases lead aft to the integrated swim platform with a high, secure railing and a watertight door leading to the fifth cabin and the engine room. Stairs, not a ladder, lead up to the 40-foot long flybridge from here.
These carefully-planned seagoing attributes were incorporated into the design of the Altima 68 Voyager and wrapped in a majestic exterior which will look “just right” for decades to come. All of this is done while maintaining the practicality of easy line handling, and low maintenance costs.

Interior
The interior is designed, like all Altima yachts, to provide an exceptional level of space efficiency and luxury on the water. On the main deck, the serious pilothouse provides exceptional visibility and ease of access to the decks and flybridge, the former from port and starboard deck doors and the latter from interior stairs. With room for a full compliment of electronics, proper working and storage space for full-size paper charts, an L-shaped watch berth/lounge with dining table and a complete forward-facing nav desk separate from the helm, the pilothouse speaks to the world cruising ability of the Altima 68 Voyager.
Just steps away from the pilothouse is the large U-shaped galley with an integrated dining bar and picture window to the world. All the expected appliances are here, along with a trash compactor, plentiful stowage and a large pantry adjacent to the 6-person dining table. The main salon is spacious and airy and includes a signature Altima touch; a main deck head nestled into the starboard aft corner of the space, easily accessible to anyone on deck.
A private staircase nestled behind the 46-inch television in the salon leads to one of two foyers below decks, this one accessing the walk-in engine room and the full-beam master suite below. A spacious locker is provided for overalls, headsets and other gear to keep handy for engine room visits.
With plentiful drawer stowage and more than twelve linear feet of hanging lockers, the master suite is grand enough for live-aboard cruising. An elegant reading nook with deep loveseat is nestled into the starboard side of the master suite, while a dressing table sits conveniently between the hanging lockers and bureau on the port side. Twin sinks and a walk-in shower make the owner’s private head equally suitable for live-aboard cruising.
Access to the three private staterooms in the forward half of the yacht is provided by stairs leading below decks from the pilothouse. A large foyer greets guests here, with an art nook, hidden washer and dryer, and access to the VIP cabin aft. Spanning the full beam of the yacht, the midships VIP cabin offers all the most important amenities of the master suite, with a loveseat, ensuite head with walk-in shower, and plentiful stowage. Two additional cabins are provided forward, one with side-by-side twin berths and another with over-and-under twin bunks. These cabins share a head with its own private shower.
The fifth cabin, suitable for crew or additional guests, is located aft of the engine room and is accessed through a full-height door leading from the swim platform. It offers a double berth, writing desk and plentiful stowage along with access to a head and shower which may also be used by swimmers while the yacht is at anchor, another megayacht touch rarely seen on a vessel of this length. A watertight door leads from the passageway to the engine room here, providing additional access to the machinery.

The Altima 68 Voyager Motoryacht has been designed to be the ideal long-range cruising yacht for couples and families. The Altima 68 Voyager is designed to be operated with or without professional crew. Four luxurious staterooms are available below decks, with a fifth private cabin nestled below the aft deck for crew or grandkids. With a beam spanning a full twenty feet, the 68 Voyager feels like a much larger yacht inside and out. Combined with a carefully-refined hull form specifically tailored to the Caterpillar C-Series engine packages, the 68 Voyager delivers a large-yacht experience with remarkably good economy.
Known for his award-winning yacht designs in power and sail, Bill Prince approached the design of the Altima 68 Voyager hull with one primary goal: to deliver maximum efficiency in a roomy, oceangoing cruising yacht. To that end, the hull has been designed with a fine entry and a modestly-rounded bilge amidships which gradually evolves into a broad, efficient underbody utilizing shallow propeller pockets for modest draft. A full-length keel protects the running gear and assures maximum directional stability in all sea conditions. With high freeboard and integrated bulwarks, the hull of the Altima 68 Voyager is the ideal platform onto which Altima builds this serious cruising yacht.
The Altima 68 Voyager can be custom-tailored to each owner’s performance preferences, be they for brisk, efficient cruising or relaxed long-range expeditions at a hull speed of more than ten knots. At a fast cruising speed of 17 knots the Altima 68 Voyager is expected to burn 88 gallons per hour with twin Caterpillar C-18 ACERT engines. At a displacement speed of 10.5 knots the yacht is projected to burn just 20 gallons per hour, with a range of around 1,200 nautical miles. Caterpillar C-12 ACERT engines will appeal to those who want maximum range at displacement speeds, and will provide a cruising range at hull speed of up to 1,800 nautical miles.
